ACT NO. 176
Adult education; high school completion program
This act replaces the provision of law which directs payment of a percentage of the base education payment to an adult education provider for a client who is aged 16 to 20 with a high school completion program. Under this program, a person between 16 and 21 who has not received a high school diploma and is not enrolled in a high school may work with an adult education provider and a high school to develop a graduation education plan which defines what the student must do to receive a high school diploma from the high school. In this case, the school district will be paid for services it provides directly to the student and be reimbursed for services that it purchases on behalf of the student from an adult education provider. The act appropriates $1 million from the education fund to pay for the reimbursements.
