ACT NO. 158
Health; education; chronic allergies and illnesses
This act directs the commissioners of education and of health to inform annually school administrators of appropriate practices regarding students with life-threatening chronic allergies and illnesses, and to prepare and distribute policies, training materials, and guidelines for managing students with life-threatening allergies and chronic illnesses. The act also directs each school board to assign an employee to inform annually parents and staff of rights and responsibilities regarding students with life-threatening allergies and chronic illnesses, and to provide necessary training to staff regarding their responsibilities.
Effective Date: July 1, 2006
