ACT NO. 146
Regulation of corporations; cable television tariff
This act allows the Public Service Board to modify, suspend, or reduce the statutory requirements for reviewing cable television rates if the Board finds that provisions of federal law prevent the Board from exercising its authority to determine whether those rates are just and reasonable. Upon petition by the Department of Public Service or on its own initiative, the Board may reimpose any regulatory provisions the Board deems necessary if it finds after notice and an opportunity for hearing that the public is not sufficiently protected after the modifications, suspensions, or reductions.
