ACT NO. 92
Conservation; private water systems; special environmental revolving fund
This act authorizes loans from the special environmental revolving fund to certain privately owned nonprofit community-type water systems on terms similar to those granted to disadvantaged municipalities. To qualify for a loan, the act requires privately owned nonprofit community-type systems to show that the median household income of the community is below the state average median household income and that the annual household user cost for the system after construction of proposed water supply improvement will be greater than 2.5% of the median household income of the community. The act requires the agency of natural resources to report annually to the general assembly regarding loans from the special environmental revolving fund for privately owned nonprofit community-type water systems.
