Education; reports and procedures; Lake Champlain
Regional Technical Center school district
This act modifies various procedures relating to school reports of deposit of funds, tuition charges and overcharges, powers of the electorate and school boards, and other operational provisions established under Act 60 of 1997 in order to conform with changes since the enactment of Act 60.
The act also provides that all capital appropriations previously made to or for the account of the Lake Champlain Regional Technical Center School District be transferred to the Department of Buildings and General Services. The act provides for the creation of a steering committee to develop a vision for providing technical education in the Chittenden County service area composed of officials and representatives of school districts in the service area, representatives of regional workforce investment boards, and technical center educators. Of the funds transferred, $10,000 is disbursed to the Chittenden South Supervisory Union Board as fiscal agent for the purpose of providing consulting services to the steering committee. The steering committee is provided access to all records and information of the Lake Champlain Regional Technical Center School District, and is directed to provide specific recommendations to the House and Senate Committees on Education and Institutions an d the Commissioners of Education and Buildings and General Services on or before November 30, 2005.
