Whereas, for a quarter of a century, each Wednesday evening from September until June, the Barre Elks has sponsored a weekly seniors’ meal, and
Whereas, these gatherings have served as a friendly setting for area seniors to share a meal and engage in friendly conversation with their neighbors, and
Whereas, throughout the history of this meal program, Don Milne, the Clerk of the House and former Assistant Secretary of the Senate, has been a primary organizer and manager of this weekly social event, and
Whereas, his dedication to the continuance and vitality of the Barre Elks senior meals program merits special recognition from his State House colleagues, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly honors Don Milne for his 25‑year leadership role in the Barre Elks senior meals program, and be it further
Resolved: That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Don Milne.
