NO. R-201. House concurrent resolution congratulating the U-32 Drama Club on their award‑winning production of “Nothing But a Good Time.”

Whereas, annually, the Vermont Drama Council affords Vermont’s High school drama clubs an opportunity to compete in a statewide one-act play festival, and
Whereas, the festival consists of five regional performance venues that each send two productions to the state finals, held this year at St. Johnsbury Academy, and
Whereas, among the 10 superb plays presented on the St. Johnsbury Academy’s stage, U-32’s production of “Nothing But a Good Time,” a play set in an African village featuring innovative dance scenes, was one of two dramas selected to represent Vermont at the New England Drama Festival held at Duxbury (Massachusetts) High School, and
Whereas, in its commendation awarded to the U-32 dramatists, the New England Drama Council, the sponsoring agency of the regional festival, stated, “The ensemble work was very compelling, and the choreography, in its simplicity, made the dancing accessible and successful for the entire cast and beautiful to watch,” and
Whereas, the U-32 young thespians associated with this production, including Wyatt Allen, Emilee Anderson, Marina Back, Isaiah Back, Dan Barrett, Ryan Black-Deegan, Erin Blosser, Brianna Boles, Julien Burns, Jordan Bushey, Brave Cheyenne, Kohl Comtess, Steve Connor, Sarah Connor, Dayna Cousins, Elizabeth Deringer, Chantele Fisher-McKone, Andrew Gray, Nick Ihley, Ellen Jaworski, Will Karnedy, Emily Klein, Mackenzie Knapp, Tyanna Langevin, Tanya Luce, Lindsay Magida, Pat Martin, Nick Mayforth, Fran Mayforth, Kristin McCormack, Cayla Merrill, Haylee Nelson, Shannon Pelchuck, Brian Pelchuck, Lauren Pettinato, Alicia Phillips, Eric Pollock, Lizzy Reynolds, David Shedd, Lily Stone, Chas Storrow, A. J. Waskow, Lily Wies, and Ben Zabriskie, dedicated many hours and worked with great diligence to develop “Nothing But a Good Time” into a first class theatrical production, and
Whereas, faculty advisor Joanne Greenberg deserves credit for her inspired leadership from the first rehearsal to the exciting performance at Duxbury High School, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates the U-32 Drama Club’s award‑winning production of “Nothing But a Good Time,” and be it further
Resolved: That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Joanne Greenberg at U-32 High School in East Montpelier.
