NO. R-176. House concurrent resolution honoring and extending best wishes to Ernest Boulé of Tinmouth on the occasion of his 95th birthday.

Whereas, Ernest Boulé is one of Tinmouth’s most revered citizens, and
Whereas, he has assumed many positions of leadership in the community, and
Whereas, his first public service position was as constable during the 1930s, and
Whereas, having fulfilled his law enforcement duties most effectively, he was later entrusted by the voters with the important duty of assessing the town’s property when he was elected as lister, a post he held for five years, and
Whereas, most significantly, from 1975 to 1992, Ernest Boulé was a highly respected member of the Tinmouth selectboard and served several terms as its distinguished chair, and
Whereas, he always scrutinized the spending of every penny so as to be frugal with his neighbors’ hard-earned money, and
Whereas, for many decades he and his wife, Therese, stayed true to Vermont’s agricultural heritage as they operated their family’s farm, and
Whereas, on Saturday, May 24, 2005, Ernest Boulé will celebrate his 95th birthday, and
Whereas, his service on behalf of the town of Tinmouth has reflected the best traditions of Vermont’s citizen government, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly honors Ernest Boulé for his honorable and diligent devoted public service on behalf of the citizens of Tinmouth and extends the very best of wishes on the occasion of his 95th birthday, and be it further
Resolved: That the secretary of state be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Ernest Boulé in Tinmouth.
