Whereas, Jamie Guth has been the Director of Public Affairs and Marketing at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) since January 2000, and
Whereas, her responsibilities have included marketing, media relations, publications, and media services for DHMC and its major components, as well as working closely with the Vermont member hospitals of the Dartmouth‑Hitchcock Alliance, and
Whereas, Jamie Guth came to DHMC in 1985 to help develop and produce the nationally distributed public television series, “The Doctor Is In,” which has garnered dozens of awards from national organizations, and
Whereas, DHMC’s media services group, which was set up under her direction in 1995, has produced hundreds of videos, multimedia, and interactive products on health and medicine, and
Whereas, Jamie Guth developed a new website for the Dartmouth health care system that includes eleven independently owned health care facilities and the physician practice network in Vermont and New Hampshire, and
Whereas, a former resident of Hartland, Vermont, she and her family will be relocating to Geneva, Switzerland, where she has accepted a position in the World Health Organization’s tropical disease research group, and
Whereas, in this post, Jamie Guth will be traveling to numerous countries to examine international public health issues, and she will design a website intended to raise the tropical disease research group’s profile, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly honors Jamie Guth for her contributions to the delivery of health care information and services to the residents of Vermont and all of northern New England and wishes her the very best as she begins her new position at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, and be it further
Resolved: That the secretary of state be directed to mail two copies of this resolution to the Office of Public Affairs and Marketing at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
