NO. R-208. JOINT RESOLUTION honoring Chris Cole for his exemplary public service as a legislative fiscal analyst.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly rely on the Joint Fiscal Office for accurate, unbiased and comprehensive financial data and technical assistance, and
Whereas, Chris Cole of South Hero, a fiscal analyst in that office, has brought his extensive knowledge to bear in assisting the House and Senate Committees on Transportation, and the entire legislative membership on matters related to transportation financing and budgeting, and
Whereas, he graduated from Saxtons River Academy and the State University of New York at Albany, and
Whereas, after working in the hectic world of the New York Legislature, Chris Cole decided to return to Vermont and the allegedly more sedate pace of the Vermont General Assembly, and
Whereas, since arriving at the Joint Fiscal Office, he has become an expert on the intricate workings of the Vermont Agency of Transportation, and his knowledge has been an invaluable resource for the General Assembly, and
Whereas, in the development and enactment of the annual transportation capital construction bill, Chris Cole has steered the transportation committees through the competing claims of highway construction, railroad rights-of-way and airport runways, and
Whereas, Chris Cole’s expertise in the transportation field has not gone unnoticed as he has been asked to assume a major managerial position in the Vermont public transportation sector, and
Whereas, legislators and staff alike will sorely miss his expertise, diligence, patience and good humor, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly thanks Chris Cole for his outstanding work as a fiscal analyst on behalf of the citizens of Vermont, and wishes him the best of success in his new position, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Chris Cole.
