NO. R-176. JOINT RESOLUTION honoring Donald L. Ketchum for his service to the state of Vermont.

Whereas, Donald L. "Pudge" Ketchum is a native of Stockbridge, and
Whereas, except for his honorable service in the United States Army, he has continued to reside in that community for 60 years, and
Whereas, Donald Ketchum is a graduate of Whitcomb High School in Bethel, and
Whereas, in 1960, he commenced his employment at the former Vermont Department of Highways, and
Whereas, in 1972, Donald Ketchum was promoted to Supervisor at the departmentís institutional successor, the Vermont Agency of Transportation, a position he has held for the last 29 years, and
Whereas, throughout his four decades as a state employee working on the stateís highway system, he never took a sick day and never failed to report for duty during a snowstorm, and
Whereas, this is an extraordinary and exemplary record of public service that is worthy of legislative commendation, and
Whereas, on April 27, 2001, after four decades as a state employee, Donald Ketchum is retiring, and will be enjoying life with JoAnne, his wife of nearly 35 years, and their entire family, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly honors Donald L. Ketchum for his many years of dedicated and outstanding public service as an employee of the state of Vermont, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Donald L. Ketchum in Stockbridge.
