NO. R-56. JOINT RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF ALDO E. MIGLIERINI.
Offered by: Senator Illuzzi of Essex-Orleans County, Senator Doyle of Washington County, Senator Cummings of Washington County and Senator Scott of Washington County.
Whereas, Aldo E. Miglierini was a native of Montpelier and resided in Vermontís capital city for his entire life, and
Whereas, after graduating from Montpelier High School in 1925, he followed his fatherís craft and became a brick mason, and
Whereas, Aldo E. Miglierini initially worked with his father as a tender, helping to construct the impressive brick tower that stands at the pinnacle of Hubbard Park, and
Whereas, decades later, in 1974, he continued his familyís contribution to Vermontís premier building when he expertly reconstructed the wall behind the State House that his father originally built a half-century earlier, and
Whereas, Aldo E. Miglierini was a master craftsman who created brick walls and other structures that were both aesthetically pleasing to behold and known for their durability, and
Whereas, he was a leader among Vermontís brick masons, having organized the state chapter of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Unions in Vermont, and was subsequently both their treasurer and secretary for 50 years, and
Whereas, during World War II, Aldo E. Miglierini interrupted his work to honorably serve his nation as a member of the United States Army, where he served in the European Theater, and
Whereas, his fraternal memberships included both the Brown-Johnson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Number 792, and the Aurora Lodge Number 22 F & AM, where he was a member for 69 years, and
Whereas, Aldo E. Miglierini was the husband of Elsie Miglierini for 57 years until her death in 1998, and they were the parents of a daughter, Joan, and the grandparents of two grandsons, Patrick and Kristopher, and the great-grandparents of a great-grandaughter, Maggie, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly extends its condolences to the family of Aldo E. Miglierini on his passing, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Joan Kirby in East Montpelier.
