Whereas, Ruth Hurlburt has personally witnessed 100 years of life in the town of Windsor where she has happily resided for an entire century since her birth on March 24, 1900, and

Whereas, as a local school teacher for 40 years, she taught the town's youngsters their ABC's and the importance of a good education, and

Whereas, Ruth was known as a terrific baker of pies and a whiz with a hand of cards at the bridge table, and

Whereas, she has always loved to sing and still carries a tune with musical finesse, and

Whereas, Ruth is much adored by her friends and can brighten even the darkest day, and

Whereas, on March 23 and 24, 2000, two days of ceremonies were held at the Mt. Ascutney Nursing Home to mark her centennial birthday, a most auspicious occasion, and

Whereas, Ruth Hurlburt is a very special lady in the annals of Windsor town, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly congratulates Ruth Hulburt on her centennial birthday, and be it further

Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Ruth Hurlburt in Windsor.
