NO. R-254. JOINT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING DAVID BRADSHAW FOR 21 YEARS OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE ON THE CHELSEA SCHOOL BOARD.
Offered by: Representatives Milne of Washington and Winters of Willamstown.
Whereas, school board members are responsible for managing local schools for the educational benefit of the community's schoolchildren while responding to the financial concerns of the municipality's taxpayers, and
Whereas, David Bradshaw has always resided in the town of Chelsea, graduated from Chelsea High School, and during his 21 consecutive year tenure on the Chelsea School Board, has exhibited a strong commitment to the educational progress of the community's schoolchildren, and
Whereas, his outstanding administrative skill was always on display during his nine years as the board's chair and more recently, as its building committee chair, and
Whereas, in addition to his outstanding leadership on the Chelsea School Board, David Bradshaw is a veteran volunteer firefighter, and
Whereas, when not laboring as a local public servant, he continues a century-old family tradition as a dairy farmer where he has tended to numerous outstanding milkers, and
Whereas, he is an active parishioner at the West Hill Congregational Church, and
Whereas, he is known as a hardworking, independent and honest Vermonter who is not above reciting a colorful joke in the appropriate setting, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates David Bradshaw for his exemplary public service as he concludes his 21-year tenure on the Chelsea School Board, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to David Bradshaw in Chelsea.
