Whereas, Olga M. Hallock was required to enter the workforce after completion of the 8th grade, and

Whereas, Olga M. Hallock at the age of 43 years passed her General Equivalency Diploma Exam, and

Whereas, Olga M. Hallock is extremely proud to have furthered her education and become a certified town clerk and treasurer, and

Whereas, Olga M. Hallock will be retiring her position as clerk and treasurer for the Town of Huntington in March 2000, and

Whereas, Olga M. Hallock has served as Huntington Town Clerk for 31 years and Huntington Town Treasurer for 21 years, and

Whereas, during her long and active 63 years, she greatly contributed to improving the quality of life for the citizens of Huntington and the State of Vermont, and

Whereas, Olga M. Hallock has dedicated countless numbers of hours toward projects and people in her community, and

Whereas, her participation in the Chittenden/Grand Isle Clerks' Association, the Vermont Municipal Clerks' and Treasurers' Association, and the New England Association for Clerks and Treasurers has enriched these organizations, and

Whereas, in addition to representing the citizens of Huntington in the local, state and national capacity, she has also brought her wit and humor to the Huntington Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and

Whereas, she was a great force behind starting the Friends of Richmond Rescue, and

Whereas, she was instrumental in starting the local newspaper for the Town of Huntington, and

Whereas, her community activities go beyond her official capacity, and are exemplified in her being the force behind the Huntington Food Boxes for many years, and

Whereas, she continues to place flags on the graves of all veterans buried in the cemeteries in the Town of Huntington each and every spring, and

Whereas, she has been a welcomed presence in the Office of the Town Clerk and Treasurer of Huntington for 31 years, and her community activities will be forever remembered, and

Whereas, she has set a fine example for a town clerk and treasurer for the State of Vermont, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly honors the career and accomplishments of Huntington's Town Clerk and Treasurer, Olga M. Hallock, who will be greatly missed but not forgotten by the residents of the Town of Huntington and her colleagues in the State of Vermont, and be it further

Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Olga M. Hallock, Town Clerk and Treasurer of Huntington, to the Huntington Selectboard and to the Chittenden-Grand Isle Town Clerks' Association.
