NO. R-232. JOINT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING GLORIA M. TANSEY ON HER RETIREMENT AS WINDSOR TOWN CLERK.

Whereas, daily municipal government functions and electoral administration are the fundamental duties of a town clerk, and

Whereas, Gloria M. Tansey has honorably fulfilled these duties on behalf of the town of Windsor since 1985, and

Whereas, her diligence, competency and the professional manner in which she has conducted the business of the town, have prompted the voters to elect her as Windsor Town Clerk for five consecutive terms, and

Whereas, prior to serving in this position, Gloria M. Tansey received excellent training during her five-year tenure as Windsor Assistant Town Clerk, and

Whereas, while serving in Windsor, she has been an active and valued member of the Vermont Clerks and Treasurers Association, and

Whereas, Gloria M. Tansey is perhaps best known around Windsor Town Hall as the seller of innumerable raffle tickets for local charities, and

Whereas, aside from her Windsor town clerk duties, she is an active member and vice president of the Windsor Rotary Club, whose presidency she will assume this summer, and

Whereas, after 20 years of dedicated municipal service, Gloria M. Tansey has decided not to seek reelection on Town Meeting Day, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly is pleased to congratulate Gloria M. Tansey on the completion of two decades of outstanding service to the town of Windsor, including 15 consecutive years as town clerk, and be it further

Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Gloria M. Tansey at the Windsor Town Hall.
