NO. R-164. JOINT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE BARRE FISH & GAME CLUB, INC. ON ITS 80TH ANNIVERSARY.
Offered by: Senator Doyle of Washington County, Senator Cummings of Washington County and Senator Spaulding of Washington County.
Whereas, in 1919, the rapid depletion of the rabbit population in central Washington County inspired former Representative Americo Galli and other Barre area hunters to work in conjunction with the former Fish and Game Department to establish the Barre Fish & Game Club, Inc. for the purpose of setting daily and seasonal bag limits for rabbit hunting, and
Whereas, the Barre Fish and Game Club has grown in membership and scope over the last 80 years and today is the oldest and largest member organization dedicated to the enhancement and protection of hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation in Vermont, and
Whereas, the Barre Fish and Game Club works closely with the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife to assure that professional wildlife management practices are in place to ensure that all species of animals remain in future generations, and
Whereas, the club's Habitat Committee promotes improvements in the habitat for deer and small game while the Stocking Committee actively stocks local streams with fish purchased from area hatcheries, and
Whereas, the Barre Fish & Game Club, Inc. annually holds many special events that promote safe and sustainable hunting and fishing, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That best wishes are extended to the Barre Fish & Game Club, Inc. on its 80th anniversary, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Dr. Robert Borowske at the Barre Fish & Game Club, Inc.
