NO. R-97. JOINT RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF UNITED STATES MILITARY PERSONNEL ENGAGED IN NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION COMBAT OPERATIONS IN YUGOSLAVIA.
Offered by: The entire membership of the House of Representatives.
Whereas, thousands of U.S. military personnel have recently been sent into North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) combat operations in Yugoslavia, and
Whereas, these brave U.S. air force, army, marine and naval men and women are placing their lives at great risk as they are exposed to hostile fire, and
Whereas, the thoughts and prayers of every member of the Vermont General Assembly are with these gallant, often young, representatives of our nation whose highly sophisticated military skills are being utilized in these NATO combat operations, and
Whereas, it is our fervent hope that all U.S. military personnel will return to the United States to their families, friends and communities unharmed, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the members of the General Assembly express their support for the courageous U.S. military personnel who are engaged in NATO combat operations in Yugoslavia, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to U.S. Secretary of Defense William Cohen and our Vermont Congressional Delegation.
