Disarming a Law Enforcement Officer

This act makes it a crime to attempt to disarm a law enforcement officer. A person who attempts to remove an officer’s firearm may be imprisoned for 10 years or fined $10,000.00, or both. A person who attempts to remove a weapon other than a firearm from a law enforcement officer may be imprisoned for 3 years or fined $500.00, or both.

The act also provides that a person can be charged with the crime of reckless endangerment for pointing a firearm at another person, whether or not the firearm was actually loaded.
