Youthful Offenders

This act reduces from 14 to 10 the age at which a juvenile can qualify for treatment as a youthful offender, makes clear that the court has the option of denying a youthful offender’s motion for determination of rehabilitation, and directs the Court Administrator to distribute information about the youthful offender program to judges, state’s attorneys, and public defenders.
