Heart Defibrillator Machines; Use with Appropriate Training

This act directs that no person is permitted to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) unless that person has successfully completed an approved training course. This act directs that any person who owns or leases an AED follow specific guidelines, including maintaining a relationship with a physician to provide technical assistance, notifying the Department of Health of the existence of a device in a particular location, and maintaining the device according to applicable standards of the manufacturer and any rule adopted by the Department of Health. This act provides limited liability for any person, other than a health care provider, who acts in good faith and complies in

all material respects with the requirements of this act. This act does not provide limited liability for an AED manufacturer, designer, developer, distributor, installer, or supplier.
