ACT NO. 127


Corrections; Sentencing

This act relates to “truth in sentencing” and provides that a reduction of a sentence of imprisonment shall be made from the maximum term of confinement in the amount of five days for each month of good behavior, and that a reduction of a term of confinement of an inmate in a work camp shall be made from the minimum and maximum terms of confinement in the camp of up to 15 additional days a month for good behavior.

Effective Date: July 1, 2000, but applies prospectively to persons who commit offenses on or after the effective date of the act.
