ACT NO. 100
Agriculture; Penalties; Dairy Sheep, Nonpoint Source Water Pollution; and Large Farm Operations
This act establishes a single statutory authorization for administrative penalties pertaining to agricultural regulation, in lieu of such authorization being established for each individual regulation. It adds dairy sheep to the category of livestock covered by state promotion of dairy production. It ensures that the state program of farmer assistance with nonpoint source pollution control addresses operating as well as
construction standards. Finally, the act reauthorizes state regulation of large farm operations by removing the sunset on the statute concerned; requires information on this regulatory program to be given to interested persons; requires all large farm operations existing on May 15, 2000 be reviewed under the regulatory program by January 1, 2002; and requires a written response to matters raised in a public meeting held under the regulatory program.
