ACT NO. 95
Class 2 Town Highway Rehabilitation Program; Study Committee
This act increases from 50 or less to 60 or less the minimum sufficiency rating of highways eligible for the class 2 town highway rehabilitation program.
It also establishes a study committee consisting of the Vermont Secretary of Transportation, or designee, two representatives appointed by the Vermont League of Cities and Towns, one representative appointed by the Vermont local roads program, and two representatives from the regional planning commission appointed by the Vermont Association of Planning and Development Agencies and one representative appointed by the Metropolitan Planning Organization. The committee is directed to study the feasibility and advisability of simplifying and combining town transportation grant programs and application processes. The Secretary of Transportation is required to provide staff support to the committee, and the committee is directed to report its findings and recommendations to the Senate and House Committees on Transportation by January 15, 2001.
The act also expands the class 2 town highway rehabilitation grant program to include unpaved class 2 town highways.
