ACT NO. 32
Local Speed Limits; Unpaved Highways
This act authorizes the legislative body of a municipality to establish a maximum speed limit at not more than 50 nor less than 35 miles per hour on all or a portion of unpaved town highways within its borders. This may be done without an engineering and traffic investigation but the legislative body must consider neighborhood character, abutting land use, bicycle and pedestrian use, and physical characteristics of the highways. Speed limit signs are required at all points where the speed limit changes.
