NO. R-40. JOINT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE 1996 CLASS OF EAGLE SCOUTS.

Whereas, the Boy Scouts of America has served Vermont youth since its incorporation by Act of Congress on February 8, 1910, and
Whereas, the highest rank that a scout can achieve, the rank of Eagle, is reached by fewer than two percent of the boys who are involved in scouting, and
Whereas, 73 scouts in the Green Mountain Council attained the rank of Eagle in 1996, and
Whereas, the 1996 class of Eagle Scouts is being recognized in special ceremonies in the State House on February 7, 1997, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the Vermont General Assembly welcomes the Vermont Eagle Scout Class of 1996 to the State House and congratulates each new Eagle on his commendable performance in attaining the highest rank in scouting, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to David Myers, Scout Executive of the Green Mountain Council, B.S.A.
