Whereas, Larry Curtis has been an active and vital participant in the civic life of the Town of Derby, and

Whereas, he served for two years as the Derby Zoning Administrator, and

Whereas, at the annual town meeting in March, 1995, the citizens of Derby entrusted to Larry Curtis municipal governing responsibilities by electing him a member of the town’s Selectboard, and

Whereas, in that capacity he ably served the community, and

Whereas, Larry Curtis has been particularly concerned that growth in Derby be approached in a responsible manner, and

Whereas, he has the admirable ability to successfully work with persons of differing viewpoints, and

Whereas, his many friends and colleagues were deeply saddened to hear Larry Curtis announce at a recent Derby Selectboard meeting that continuing health problems require him to resign from the board, and

Whereas, he has valiantly tried to continue his regular business and civic activities during these personally difficult months, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly recognizes the constructive and innovative role that Larry Curtis has played in the public affairs of the Town of Derby and wishes him well, and be it further

Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send copies of this resolution to Larry Curtis in Derby Line and the Derby Town Clerk in Derby.
