NO. R-28. JOINT RESOLUTION RELATING IN RECOGNITION OF THE ARTISTIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF DANA PAUL MYRICK.

Offered by:Representatives Houston of Ferrisburg and McGrath of Ferrisburg.

Whereas, Dana Paul Myrick was a lifelong resident of Bridport, Vermont, and a graduate of Middlebury High School, and

Whereas, he spent his career as a highly skilled craftsman, and

Whereas, his historic reproductions are particularly noteworthy, and

Whereas, his work has been publicly exhibited throughout New England, including the Sheldon Museum in Middlebury, and

Whereas, his artistic creations were beautifully displayed in the 1996-1997 Bridport Grange Calendar, and

Whereas, among Dana Myrick’s projects that adorn his home community are a park gazebo and the restored Bridport Masonic Hall, and

Whereas, he was an active member of the Bridport Restoration Committee, and

Whereas, his most significant recent endeavor was participation in the development of a reproduction of the Addison Railroad, and

Whereas, his life tragically ended when he still had many years of artistic creativity to offer, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly recognizes the artistic beauty that Dana Paul Myrick left for all Vermonters to admire, and be it further

Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to his parents, Robert and Rita Myrick.
