NO. R-13. JOINT RESOLUTION HONORING FRANK W. SNOW JR. ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE.

Whereas, Frank W. Snow Jr. is a native of Bennington, Vermont, and

Whereas, in over 40 years of devoted public service at the Department of Fish and Wildlife, that was only interrupted for two years of military duty, he rose through the ranks to become a hatchery supervisor, a position that he held with distinction for 28 years, and

Whereas, Frank W. Snow Jr. served for nine years on the Bennington Board of Zoning Adjustment, and

Whereas, he has assumed a leadership role in the governance of Bennington Fire District No. 1 having served on the district’s prudential committee and for a decade in the important job of moderator, and

Whereas, Frank W. Snow Jr.’s dedication to the improvement of the community’s fire fighting capability has resulted in his being named as an honorary member of the Bennington Rural Fire Department, and

Whereas, wishing to encourage the development of constructive activities for Bennington’s youngsters, he has volunteered for many years with the local youth sports program, and

Whereas, Frank W. Snow Jr. has been an active member and local leader in several fraternal organizations including the American Legion, the Elks and the Moose, and

Whereas, after four and one-half decades at the Department of Fish and Wildlife, he retired in November, 1996, and

Whereas, Frank W. Snow Jr. has led an exemplary life both in his professional career and as a citizen volunteer, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly recognizes the many accomplishments of Frank W. Snow Jr. as a dedicated public servant to the citizens of the state of Vermont and extends bestwishes to him and his family for many happy retirement years, and be it further

Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Frank W. Snow Jr.
