NO. R-245. JOINT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE NORTH COUNTRY UNION HIGH SCHOOL FALCONS 1997 DIVISION II CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL TEAM.

Whereas, the North Country Union High School Falcons football team had previously made Vermont interscholastic gridiron history by winning two consecutive championship titles in 1995 in Division III and in 1996 in Division II, and
Whereas, the Falcons commenced the 1997 campaign prepared to repeat their stellar performances of the prior two seasons, and once again secured a berth in the Division II finals, and
Whereas, on November 8, when the Falcons met their opponents from Springfield, the North Country squad romped to a spectacular 60-0 victory, and
Whereas, Falcons Brent Austin, Matt Davis, Greg Rose, Jason Stanzione and Tim Stanzione were privileged to be members of all three Championship teams, and
Whereas, Eric Turner, Jason Roberts, Adam Leicht, James Mann, Brent Austin, Payson Davis, Jacob Randall, Matt Wright, Rich Lantagne, Nick Prairie, Dan Dykeman, Dana Cheney, Shawn Chaput, Jedediah Randall, Travis Glodett, Sean Butterfield, Scott Austin, Daryk Sykes, Alex Prairie, Todd Wright, Nick Craft, Sky Shover, Rick Davio, Jon Farnsworth, Andre Fontaine, Tim Bronson, Jon Provencher, Robbie Ludwig, Shaun Sykes, Dustin Fortin, Jesse Villeneuve, Greg Rose, and Matt Robert were all instrumental in the Falcons achieving their third consecutive football divisional title, and
Whereas, the entire coaching staff, including Head Coach Bob Davis and Assistant Coaches Jude Smith, Nick Arcangeli, Lonnie Wade and Nancy Stevenson each inspired their players to play their best, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates the 1997 North Country Union High School Falcons on clinching their third consecutive Vermont interscholastic divisional football title, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the North Country Union High School Falcons of 1997.
