NO. R-240. JOINT RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE USE OF THE STATE HOUSE FOR THE GREEN MOUNTAIN GIRLS' STATE PROGRAM.

Whereas, the Green Mountain Girls' State Program brings together high school students from all areas of Vermont to our capital city in order that they can understand the dynamics of leadership and the issues facing women in state government as well as to view firsthand the workings of state government, and
Whereas, the lessons learned by those students make a significant contribution to their future growth as informed citizens and leaders of our state, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the Sergeant at Arms shall make available the chambers of the State House for the Green Mountain Girls' State Program on Wednesday, June 17, 1998 and Thursday, June 18, 1998, and be it further
Resolved: That the General Assembly is supportive of the American Legion Auxiliary's efforts to provide the participants in the Girls' State Program with a significant educational experience that stresses civic leadership skills and is available to assist the American Legion Auxiliary in continuing this outstanding educational activity, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the department headquarters of the American Legion Auxiliary located at 126 State Street in Montpelier.
