NO. R-199. JOINT RESOLUTION HONORING THE ROTARY CLUB OF MONTPELIER ON THE OCCASION OF ITS 75TH ANNIVERSARY.

Offered by: Senator Doyle of Washington County, Senator Cummings of Washington County and Senator Spaulding of Washington County.

Whereas, the Rotary Club of Montpelier was admitted to membership in the Rotary International on June 9, 1923, and

Whereas, the Rotary Club of Rutland was its sponsoring club, and

Whereas, the Rotary Club of Montpelier has been dedicated to the Objective of Rotary which is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise, and

Whereas, the Rotary Club of Montpelier undertakes programs in vocational service, community service and international service, and

Whereas, these programs seek to improve the community and world in which we live and work, and to build goodwill and better understanding among all people, and

Whereas, June 9th of this year is the 75th anniversary of the chartering of the Rotary Club of Montpelier, and

Whereas, the Rotary Club of Montpelier will be celebrating its history of 75 years of service at a special diamond anniversary program to be held June 9, 1998, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly congratulates the Rotary Club of Montpelier on the occasion of its 75 years of service, and be it further

Resolved: That the General Assembly proclaims June 9, 1998 as Rotary Club of Montpelier Day in Vermont, and be it further

Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to the Rotary Club of Montpelier.
