NO. R-180. JOINT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING DANIEL RENNER ON BEING NAMED A VERMONT RECIPIENT OF THE 1998 PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARD.

Whereas, the volunteer projects of Vermont's young citizens are frequently overlooked, and
Whereas, Daniel Renner, a 15-year old student at Oxbow High School, is certainly a young Vermonter whose personal initiative merits special recognition, and
Whereas, he volunteered to rebuild the fence around the historic West Topsham Cemetery, helping to restore the aesthetic integrity and beauty of this historic cemetery, and
Whereas, the personal commitment that Daniel demonstrated in rebuilding the fence serves as a fine example for his peers, and
Whereas, in recognition of his initiative to improve this important community site, Daniel Renner has been selected as a Vermont recipient of the 1998 Prudential Spirit of Community Award which is annually given to exemplary middle and high school student volunteers in every state, and
Whereas, this award will be presented to him at a special ceremony that will be held in his community, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates Daniel Renner on being named as a 1998 Prudential Spirit of Community Award winner, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Daniel Renner.
