NO. R-140. JOINT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING JENNIFER BAYBROOK FOR HER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AT THE 1997 WORLD YO-YO CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Whereas, the yo-yo is a circumferential object that has long challenged the agility and nimbleness of its many fans both young and old, and
Whereas, skilled yo-yo performers can dazzle and amaze onlookers with highly intricate feats of skill, and
Whereas, Jennifer Baybrook of St. Albans, at the age of 17, has mastered this special talent with an enviable proficiency and athletic precision, and
Whereas, she has either won, or been highly ranked, at several national and international yo-yo competitions, and
Whereas, Jennifer placed third in the PRO/AM Grand Championship Division at the 1997 World Yo-Yo Championships that were held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and
Whereas, Jennifer won the 1997-98 National Championship, the first female ever to earn this title, and
Whereas, her devotion to this unique sport is to be greatly admired, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates Jennifer Baybrook on her extraordinary
yo-yo skills and her most recent achievement, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Jennifer Baybrook.
