ACT NO. 160


Crimes; Insurance; Labor

This act requires that persons convicted of violent crimes submit a DNA sample for inclusion in a state and national DNA database. This act also prohibits genetic testing as a condition of: the issuance of a policy of insurance; employment; membership in a labor organization; or professional licensure, certification or registration.

Effective Date: Upon passage, April 29, 1998, except the genetic testing sections take effect on January 1, 1999.
