ACT NO. 93
Fair Credit Reporting; Disclosures to Consumers
This act provides that when a credit reporting agency is required to make a disclosure to a consumer under the federal fair credit reporting law (15 U.S.C. § 1681g), the credit reporting agency must also provide a notice to Vermont consumers stating that consumers may obtain a free credit report on an annual basis, and stating the limited circumstances under which consumer credit reports can be disclosed to third parties.
Effective Date: July 1, 1998
