ACT NO. 18

Electric Industry; Regulatory Reform; Legislature; Appropriation

This act authorizes the expenditure of up to $70,000.00 for the purpose of contracting for and retaining electric utility consultants, legal services and other expenditures needed to assist the General Assembly in assessing and analyzing the public interests involved in the regulation of the electric utility industry, industry costs and financial data, and any other issue relating to regulatory reform of the electric industry in Vermont. The funds are appropriated to and transferred from the Public Service Board and expenses allocated by the Board to electric utility companies under the jurisdiction of the Board. The funds may be expended by the Joint Fiscal office upon authorization of the Joint Fiscal Committee.
