Vermont Commission on Family Recognition and Protection
The Vermont Commission on Family Recognition and Protection was created by the speaker of the house, Gaye Symington, and the senate president pro tempore, Peter Shumlin, for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating Vermont’s laws relating to the recognition and protection of same-sex couples and the families they form. The commission will present its findings and recommendations to the Vermont house and senate committees on judiciary by the end of April 2008.
The Commission is comprised of eleven members:

The first meeting will be held Thursday, August 23, 2007, 10:00–12:30, Room 11, at the State House in Montpelier. The public is welcome to attend, but public testimony will not be taken until a later date. All notices of commission meetings and public hearings will be posted on this webpage.
