Vermont Commission on Family Recognition and Protection Announces Meeting Schedule

 

Montpelier, Vt.  The Vermont Commission on Family Recognition and Protection has set the

 following dates for meetings this year:

 

October 10th. 5-6:30 pm Short Commission meeting, followed by informational session with

presentation on origins of Civil Unions in Vermont

                       7-9 pm, Public Hearing. Johnson State College Bentley

                                   Auditorium.

 

October 29th. 1-5 pm, Commission Meeting with presentations by legal scholars and law

school professors from Vermont and elsewhere. Chase Center, Vt Law School, South Royalton

 

November 19th.  Meeting and Public Hearing at Lyndon State College, Lyndonville, Vt

 

December 5th.    Meeting and Public Hearing. Location and agenda to be

     announced.

 

December 10th.  Meeting and Public Hearing. Location and agenda to be

                           announced.

 

December 18th.  Meeting and Public Hearing. Location and agenda to be

    announced.

 

The Commission was created for the purpose of reviewing and evaluating Vermont’s laws

relating to the recognition and protection of same-sex couples and the families they form.

The commission will present its findings and recommendations to the Vermont house and

senate committees on judiciary by the end of April 2008.
