Whereas, for the past 37 years, Marilyn Davis has served the citizens of the State of Vermont as an exemplary public servant, and

Whereas, she is a licensed professional engineer whose technical competence and expertise are widely recognized, and

Whereas, Marilyn Davis is held in such high esteem among her professional colleagues that among her public duties has been service on the state board of professional engineers, and

Whereas, at the department of environmental conservation, she has been entrusted with significant responsibilities, most recently as director of the wastewater management program and she served previously as director of the facilities program in the departmentís engineering division, and

Whereas, her professionalism, combined with her personality, have made her a highly valued colleague in the department, and

Whereas, after 37 years on the job, Marilyn Davis is concluding her career and, along with her husband Robert, is looking forward to the arrival of their eighth grandchild, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly congratulates Marilyn Davis on her outstanding public service on behalf of the State of Vermont and wishes her the very best in the years ahead, and be it further

Resolved:† That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Marilyn Davis.
