Whereas, Leo Harrington, a lifelong resident of his native Shaftsbury was a highly respected member of his community, and

Whereas, he attended the Maple Hill School in Shaftsbury, and

Whereas, during his working career, he was employed at Stanley Tools, Daileys, and the International Union of Operating Engineers in Troy, New York, and

Whereas, for 15 years, his employer was the Shaftsbury road commissioner and for 35 years, he operated Leo Harrington Construction, and

Whereas, Leo Harrington was an honorary member of the Shaftsbury Fire Department, and

Whereas, an avid sportsman, who enjoyed fishing, camping, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and boating, he was a lifetime member of the Hale Mountain Fish and Game Club, and

Whereas, his fraternal activity focused on Bennington Lodge of Elks #567, to which he belonged, and

Whereas, for 60 years he was married to his wife Mabel and they were the parents of two children, Philip and Kenneth, and had eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly extends its sincere condolences to the family of the late Leo Harrington, and be it further

Resolved:  That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to his widow Mabel Harrington and to their sons Philip Harrington and Kenneth Harrington, each in Shaftsbury.
