NO. R-96.  House concurrent resolution congratulating Kermit C. Glines of Tunbridge on the occasion of his 95th birthday.

Whereas, one of Tunbridge’s most treasured citizens and the oldest living lifelong resident is Kermit C. Glines, whose residency in this southern Orange County municipality predates all of his neighbors, and

Whereas, he has called Tunbridge home, and in fact has lived in the same home, since his birth, 95 years ago, in 1908, and

Whereas, Vermont’s bountiful land and natural resources have provided him sustenance throughout the years’ seasons as he has worked as a dairy farmer, logger, carpenter, deer and fox hunter, and sugarmaker, and

Whereas, his cinematic talents have been exhibited on the silver screen when he played the campaign advisor to his fellow Tunbridge resident Fred Tuttle in the famous film “Man With A Plan” and also appeared in other movies, including “Vermont Is For Lovers” and “Nosey Parker,” and

Whereas, his many friends in Tunbridge are gathering on April 6 to celebrate the 95 years of life to date of an unassuming gentle man, whose friendly personality is reflected in his big, bright, and warm smile, and

Whereas, this wonderful celebration is a special event in Tunbridge’s long and proud history, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly congratulates Kermit C. Glines on the occasion of his 95th birthday, and be it further

Resolved:  That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Kermit C. Glines in Tunbridge.
