NO. R-58.  House concurrent resolution congratulating Andrew Liptak of Moretown upon earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Offered by:  Representatives Grad of Moretown, Connell of Warren and Donahue of Northfield.

     Whereas, scouting is a movement that challenges, inspires, and guides young people toward high achievements and high values as expressed in the Scout oath, law, motto, and slogan, and

     Whereas, Eagle is the highest rank in boy scouting, and requires mastery of difficult challenges in diverse areas, and

     Whereas, to become an Eagle Scout requires demonstration of good character and community service, and

     Whereas, only a minority of scouts ever achieves this special accomplishment, and

     Whereas, Andrew Liptak of Moretown has demonstrated a special commitment to the Boy Scouts, and has worked with great diligence to successfully complete the requirements for the rank of Eagle, and

Whereas, for his Eagle community service project, Andrew raised a garden bed at The Evergreen Place in Waitsfield, and 

Whereas, Andrew was formally inducted into this special fraternity of extraordinary Boy Scouts at an Eagle Court of Honor held on July 7, 2002, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

     That the General Assembly congratulates Andrew Liptak on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, and be it further

     Resolved:  That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Andrew Liptak in Moretown.
