NO. R-34.  House concurrent resolution congratulating Trevor Halperin of Boy Scout Troop # 876 in Morrisville upon earning the rank of Eagle.

Offered by:  Representatives Miller of Elmore and Smith of Morrisville, and Senator Bartlett of Lamoille County.

     Whereas, scouting is a movement that challenges, inspires, and guides young people toward high achievements and high values as expressed in the Scout oath, law, motto, and slogan, and

     Whereas, Eagle is the highest rank in boy scouting, and requires mastery of difficult challenges in diverse areas, and

     Whereas, to become an Eagle Scout requires demonstration of good character and community service, and

     Whereas, only a minority of scouts ever achieves this special accomplishment, and

     Whereas, Trevor Halperin of Morrisville has demonstrated a special commitment to the Boy Scouts, and has worked with great diligence to successfully complete the requirements for the rank of Eagle, and

Whereas, for his Eagle community service project, Trevor rebuilt and painted part of an old cemetery fence in Morrisville, and 

     Whereas, Trevor will be formally inducted into this special fraternity of extraordinary Boy Scouts at an Eagle Court of Honor to be held on February 9, 2003 at the Morrisville V.F.W. Hall, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

     That the General Assembly congratulates Trevor Halperin on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, and be it further

     Resolved:  That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Trevor Halperin in Morrisville.
