NO. 2.  AN ACT RELATING TO THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON JUDICIAL RULES.

It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:

Sec. 1.  12 V.S.A. § 3 is amended to read:

§ 3.  LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON JUDICIAL RULES

(a)  There is created a joint legislative committee to be known as the legislative committee on judicial rules.  The legislative committee on judicial rules shall be composed of eight members of the general assembly to be appointed for two-year terms ending on February 1 of odd-numbered years as follows:  the chairman of the house judiciary committee and three four members of the house of representatives, appointed by the speaker of the house, and the chairman of the senate judiciary committee and three four members of the senate to be appointed by the committee on committees.  The committee shall elect a chairman chair and a vice-chairman vice chair from among its members.

Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE

This act shall take effect upon passage.
