ACT NO. 21

(H.29)

Education; Scholarships; National Guard

This act repeals the requirement that a child of a Vermont national guard member who was killed on duty be a Vermont resident in order to receive free tuition at a Vermont state postsecondary institution; and stipulates that for purposes of receiving assistance from the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation, a resident is a person who has lived in Vermont for the year preceding the beginning of the academic program instead of for the year prior to application for assistance.
