NO. R-167. JOINT RESOLUTION RELATING TO EXPRESSING APPRECIATION OF DOCTOR JAMES SHEA.
Offered by:Senator Canns of Caledonia County and Senator McCormack of Windsor County.
Whereas, the Vermont General Assembly has been most fortunate since 1989 to have among its members Dr. James Shea who represents the citizens of Shaftsbury, and
Whereas, he was born and grew up in Bennington, Vermont and served his nation in the United States Navy during WW II, and
Whereas, he was educated at Georgetown University and the University of Vermont Medical School, and
Whereas, for many years he served the residents of Shaftsbury as a highly skilled family physician, and
Whereas, Jim Shea has ministered to the emergency medical needs of the General Assembly from the minor to the most serious without compensation and with a continuing dedication to his Hippocratic Oath, and
Whereas, members of the General Assembly have an extra sense of security and peace of mind knowing that Doc Shea is always close by, and
Whereas, his uncompensated medical services are greatly appreciated and have earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow legislators, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That very special thanks, along with best wishes, are extended to Dr. James Shea for services rendered beyond the call of duty to his colleagues in the Vermont General Assembly, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Dr. James Shea.
