Whereas, public sector employees are committed to improving the lives of the citizens that they serve, and

Whereas, the vital services that public sector employees perform are all too often criticized and overlooked, and

Whereas, the commendable and special efforts of these employees deserve to be recognized by all Vermonters, and

Whereas, since 1986, Public Service Recognition Week has provided a special opportunity for these worthy employees to receive the thanks that is so often lacking, and

Whereas, as part of the observance of Public Service Recognition Week in Vermont, the Governor will preside at a ceremony that will honor state employees who have made especially noteworthy contributions to their departments’ operations, now therefore be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:

That the General Assembly proudly joins, as its part of the Public Service Recognition Week activities, in congratulating those employees who are being recognized by the Governor, and be it further

Resolved: That the General Assembly recognizes the commendable service that is provided on a regular basis by all public sector employees.
